Welcome to
the Callow Inn! Set in the wild Mary Webb countryside
steeped in myth and legend, there has been an Inn here since the
middle of the 19th century. From here you can explore the
beautiful Shropshire countryside, the mysterious shattered pinnacles of
the Stiperstones, and the ancient stone circle at Mitchells Fold. Legend
has it, a magic cow gave a pail of milk to all, until a wicked witch
interfered with it and the cow ran away, never to be seen again.
The witch was reputedly turned into stone.
Wherever you go in this
landscape which provided the inspiration for books such as "The
Golden Arrow" written by Mary Webb, you will be impressed by the
rich variety of its flora and fauna.
