Pretty village in the beautiful Cotswolds with a free car park! Lovely old church with 99 yew tree gardens/graveyard. Fantastic village pub “The Falcon”. Recommend walking up Painswick Beacon for 360 panoramic views.

Beautiful, historic Cotswold village with good local facilities and plenty to do and visit in the area, especially when the weather permits walking and outdoor activities. Larger towns nearby (Stroud, Gloucester, Cheltenham) offer supermarkets and additional facilities.

Painswick is a very picturesque village with enough facilities for a short stay. There are limited places to eat but all were worth a visit. It is a good base for ramblers but not suitable for young children. There are camping sites nearby though which would be more child friendly.

A very peaceful Cotswolds village, Falcon Inn was a great place to eat, went there twice. A good place to start a Cotswolds Way walk. I only stayed for a hiking weekend with friends but could have definitely stayed longer - lots of things to see and do within an easy each (one does need a car though).

We ate at the Edgemoor Inn at Edge.
We ate at the Edgemoor Inn at Edge. The food was a good price and excellent with a varied range of food choices. Another time I would love to see the 200 Yew trees in the church yard, and the famous Rococco gardens.

Enjoyed the peace and quiet of the location.
Enjoyed the peace and quiet of the location. We ate in the only three pubs/restaurants - St Michaels Bistro, The Falcon and The Oak and enjoyed the drinks and meals in all - all quite different. Village itself can be walked round very quickly - don't expect any shops to visit but lots of nice walks on offer.
We had the best time at this stunning home in Painswick! It made for a wonderful birthday weekend. The local food and drink was amazing (The Painswick and the Oak get honourable mention!) We served a birthday dinner at the house one night and the kitchen is well kitted out and stocked with all the cooking supplies we needed; perfect to serve the show stopping banquet table! Bedrooms are large and well equipped and the view from upstairs can’t be beat. We will definitely be back. 10/10
Dove Lodge itself and the surrounding gardens were stunning! Having breakfast and looking at the garden in the morning was a particular favourite of mine. It was extremely clean and the hosts (Peter and Judy) were so lovely! Painswick itself is beautiful but definitely need a car as not a lot to do in the area. We took our 6 month cockapoo which the lodge was perfect for. I would 100% recommend this lodge and would love to stay again!!
This quaint hotel tucked into the countryside had the most amazing views of the green hillside. The staff was delightful and amenities offered such as afternoon tea in bed made for a relaxing experience. The drinks and food were incredible! We loved the al Capone and Rosemary Collins! The truffle pudding and lamb among other meals here were delicious. Definitely would recommend and would love to return in the future!
The cottage is perfect! My wife walked in and said, "This is my English country vacation dream come true." Everything was beautiful, incredible views on both sides of the cottage....fantastic location in the Cotswolds. Extremely charming and cozy. We always had parking very close to or directly in front of the entrance. Great experience! Highly recommend!
The location was great for getting to places such as Gloucester, Cheltenham and other locations across the Cotswolds, Forest of Dean etc.
The village is very quiet especially where the guest house is except for the neighbour across the road who sings in the evening.
The breakfasts were lovely
The shower was great
The host was very pleasant
Good breakfast. Location needed the name of Tibbiwell Lodge at the drive entrance. It was very busy in Painswick when we arrived and the steep narrow streets are difficult to negotiate. We drove down and couldn’t identify the place and had to park elsewhere and explore on foot. It would have been so much easier if the name were displayed!
Situated in the Centre of town, easy walking distance to local restaurants and beautiful ancient churchyard. The host was friendly and accommodating. The room light, airy and comfortable. Pretty courtyard between the front and rear buildings. Excellent breakfast…
We would definitely book again should we be travelling to that area…,
The Manor was absolutely beautiful. This 400 year old building and grounds were in amazing shape. The staff were very friendly, we thank Harry for a kind, warm welcome. The location in the heart of the village of Painswick was breathtaking. The rooms are very authentic with newly renovated bathrooms.
Quirky, nice change from your 'run of the mill' business hotel. Very comfy bed and good shower. After a hiccup checking in, the owner reacted quickly to resolve the issue. Quiet area, and the bistro on site was fantastic, the food, service and atmosphere was great
Greg and his partner made us feel very welcome and we’re very generous with their time and help. Their beautiful home was a perfect place to stay and enjoy wonderful Painswick. Greg makes the best scrambled eggs.
The hostess runs her b&b with heart and soul, she enjoys making her guests feel comfortable and at home, helping out with any enquiry you may have.
It is a wonderful place to stay in beautiful Painswick.
Host sent me details the week leading up to our stay including places to eat & drink. Lovely property and perfect for our stay.
Painswick is a lovely place. Would love to come back again and stay longer.
