Going abroad this summer?
Although we are advocates of the staycation, we realise that some of you will be wanting to jet off to warmer climates this summer. With the recent weather we've been having, we can hardly blame you!

Jetting off this summer? We don't blame you...
However, have you ever thought about extending your summer holiday and staying at an inn or country hotel near an airport? Now you may be thinking something along the lines of "Don't be silly - airports are usually near big cities, surely there's no individual, quirky inns around them?" You'd be wrong, and being the nice folks we are we've even decided to compile a list of them!
If you're travelling to Heathrow or Gatwick, why not try The Running Horses near Dorking? It's only 29 miles from Heathrow and 17 miles from Gatwick, and even better is only 4 miles away from the M25 providing easy access to both! The inn itself was built in the 16th century and has a superb restaurant, as well as being situated in the middle of the pretty village of Mickleham.
Alternatively, if you're travelling from Manchester Airport why not try The Etrop Grange Hotel? It's a Grade II listed Georgian mansion, is only 2 miles from the airport and even features airport car parking packages! It's also really pretty...
Go on, give it a whirl. Extend your holiday by spending a night (or even better a weekend break!) at one of our Airport Hotels and Inns.
Christmas is coming early!
It's official (according to Selfridges, anyways!) - the run up to Christmas begins on August 2nd!

We can smell the mulled wine from here...
Yep - the famous Oxford Street department store is starting its Yule campaign at the start of August this year, meaning that all of you wanting to get your hands on crackers, trees, fairy lights or a £500 life sized donkey are in luck.
"Why?"
Well, according to research carried out by Selfridges, "previous sales had shown some customers, especially overseas tourists, started thinking about Christmas during August". We personally agree with them as we posted a few weeks back with out Christmas Breaks - When Do You Book Yours? posting.
In terms of hotels and inns, we think that now is the perfect time to book your Christmas breaks in England. By booking early you'll have a better chance of securing the best rooms and the best deals.
Saying that, if you do leave it until the last moment, at least you'll have our Late Availability deals to fall back on!
Summer Holidays are here!
Glastonbury's over...Wimbledon's over...even the World Cup is over (congratulations by the way Spain!) so what better time to start planning your summer holiday? Whether you're planning a weekend break in England or a longer trip somewhere further a-field, we'd love to hear from you in the comments below...

You're never too old for a bucket and spade...
After asking around the office what everything is doing for their summer holiday, these were the replies:
- Tony - heading off with his wife to the Isle of Man to see some friends.
- Viv - Staying at home...no plans for a summer holiday at all! (although is gaining lots of sympathy from the other office members)
- Ben - Has just come back from a trip to Spain to see the bulls run in Pamplona.
- Debbie - Moving house this summer so like Viv has no plans for a summer break!
Remember, if you're looking for a last minute get-away you could do a lot worse than checking our Weekend Breaks page.
