English Country Inns

Overview

A traditional Cotswold Inn with 9 rooms serving locally sourced award winning British food and fine cask ales set in 4 acres of private, riverside gardens.

The Inn is located in the pretty hamlet of Fossebridge, where the Fosse Way drops into the valley of the River Coln, an area of outstanding natural beauty. It is only 6 miles north of Cirencester on the A429. Delightful walks are to be discovered from here up to Yanworth and The National Trust Chedworth Roman Villa. Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold and Cheltenham are within half an hours drive. Warwick Castle, Oxford and Bath are also easy day trips.

Accommodation:

All individual nine Georgian en-suite bedrooms are named after a nearby Cotswold village or town. Each are tastefully furnished with antique furniture and King beds, flatscreen televisions, tea and coffee making facilities, Egyptian cotton linen and L’Occitaine Toiletries.

Food and Drink:

The two traditional bars and integral restaurant are divided by stone archways and are rustic and cosy, with flagstone floors, beamed ceilings, two open log fires, a log burning stove and mellow Cotswold stone walls. Enjoy a wide range of local real ales, lagers, fine wines and refreshing Cotswold juices.

The lunch and dinner menus offer creative mouth watering dishes, And the “Daily specials” are inspired by fresh ingredients available each morning from local suppliers. The inn also offers light lunches, cream teas, traditional Sunday roasts and BBQ's in the summer.

Special Occasions and Weddings:

The private dining room and the Garden Room can be used separately or as one large room and offers the perfect space for weddings, celebrations, parties, business meetings and corporate events. Their large sash windows overlook the four acres of lawns (with direct access outside), at the heart of which is the beautiful lake; the haunt of Kingfishers, Herons and all manner of wildlife.

The setting is idyllic for either a civil ceremony and/or wedding reception … celebrate a smaller wedding within the private garden rooms, or a larger event in the grounds in amarquee with a covered walkway from the hotel.
