The Speech House Hotel is a former 17th century hunting lodge set in the heart of the idillic Royal Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire. Steeped in history, The Speech House Hotel has accommodated the Verderers Court for hundreds of years and has accommodated royalty such as Charles II.

Food & Drink

The Speech House Hotel offers all level of dining experience from good Pub Food to Restaurant service.

The Orangery provides a perfect place to relax, unwind and enjoy some traditional food. It offers a perfect environment for morning cooffee, afternoon tea, informal meals, light snacks, all under the personal guidance of our head chef.

If you are looking for a more formal dining environment, the beamed Verderer's Court restaurant reflects the room's continuing use as a courthouse for the Foresters of Dean, while the more intimate Freeminers Restaurant maintains links with one of the unique Forest traditions of Gloucestershire.

Weddings

Speech House Hotel is ideal if you are looking for a country wedding venue in the heart of The Royal Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire.

Of all the events in life there is probably nothing more memorable or important than your wedding and our experienced, professional, caring staff are on hand at all times to make sure that your ceremony goes off without a hitch.

Up to 65 guests can be accommodated in the famous Verderer's Court for a wedding reception, and 80 for the evening. In the garden marquee upto 120 guests can be accommodated for a wedding reception, with 200 for the evening.
