We say...

The market town of Banbury is just a few miles from the Red Lion. Market days are Thursdays and Saturdays.

English Country Inns

Overview

This pretty coaching inn is steeped in history and overlooks the village green in this attractive Oxfordshire village.

Welcome to the picturesque Red Lion Hotel at Adderbury, overlooking one of the largest village greens in Oxfordshire.

This lovely old Oxfordshire inn is luxuriously appointed and sympathetically maintained, with oak panelling, open fires, twisty corridors and passageways. You may need to duck your head under the ancient old beams; this inn does after all date back to before the English Civil War! A list of landlords since 1690 is displayed in the bar where traditional ales and fine wines are served.

The Red Lion serves good country food in the restaurant which was once the Bake House and Brewery. Set in beautiful Oxfordshire countryside, the inn is perfectly placed for shopping in Banbury and Bicester Retail Village.
