Welcome to the Spread Eagle, a delightful coaching inn set in the heart of the Ribble Valley standing on a bend of the River Ribble in the village of Sawley.
Although this historic inn dates back to the mid 18th century, the inn has a contemporary feel, with rooms providing a series of stylish and beautiful dining areas: comfy window seats frame some of the finest views across the Ribble Valley.

Our team of award winning chefs create the most wonderful dishes using the freshest of ingredients, using local suppliers wherever possible. We offer one menu throughout the dining rooms and bar giving you the chance to eat a light dish, sandwich, platter or full meal......complemented by a range of fine hand pulled ales and an extensive wine list.
The Spread Eagle is renowned for traditional afternoon teas served gracefully throughout the bar every afternoon - a real English tradition relived - a popular choice of many locals and visitors from afar.
